Abstract: A striking Paradise Valley, Arizona home designed to blend seamlessly into the desert landscape is one of acclaimed architect Will Bruder's most striking masterpieces.

Listed at $3.8 million, the three-bedroom house achieves its goal of being immersed in Mummy Mountain through a combination of materials - copper, glass, steel, concrete and native stone. According to the listing, the home is anchored in its surroundings using native rock cantilevers.

"This is a house by Will Bruder, a renowned architect who has designed the Phoenix Library and various properties around the country," said Tracey Zemer, listing agent for azarchitecture/Jarson & Jarson." This house has views across the valley, so it's really charming. It's not that high up, but it does nestle into the landscape. The house was built to blend into the landscape."

Despite being built in 1987, the home's 3,724 square feet of interior space offers a mid-century modern vibe. There are wooden walls and ceilings, stone and wooden floors, and wall after wall of glass. Natural rock also makes an appearance.

"In the bathroom, there is a steam shower into which the physical mountain is incorporated," says Zemer.

The modern kitchen has a soaring ceiling and a huge window that allows one to immerse oneself in the picturesque view. There is also a fire pit area enclosed by stone, a backyard patio and spectacular pool with panoramic views of the valley.

When it comes to the house itself, Zemer points out that the photographs simply don't do it justice.

"When you're in the house, you have so many views from every room," Zemer says." What is certain is that it really is a work of art."

While no major renovations have been made in the last few years, Zemer says the current owners have done some "subtle updates" that Bruder came back to oversee.

"There are only two owners of this house," she says." They've only made a few minor modifications. For example, there was a media room, which they converted into an office. They also replaced some tiles."

Zemer says she has given up on predicting the next owners, but she still has some ideas.

"Building properties," she notes, "are buyer-related, so it's not necessarily about location." We've also had an influx of people from outside the state recently. Some people have looked at the house as a second home."

However, she adds that the allure of the area has attracted some second-home buyers to stay full-time.

"The house is in a prime location in Paradise Valley, overlooking the valley and Paradise Valley Country Club," Zemer said." It's in an area where people like to walk and bike, and it's also close to shopping and restaurants."
